San Diego Benefit Pays Tribute to Local Heroes and Animals

Don't miss out on the fun when FOCAS - Friends of County Animal Shelters – holds its 3rd Annual
A Celebration of Courage Gala on June 1st from 5-8 pm in La Jolla, California. The fundraising Gala, which benefits San Diego's three County animal shelters, pays tribute to extraordinary acts of bravery and heroism performed by and for animals.

This year's honorees include:
** El Cajon Fire Dept.'s Captain Steve Swaney and "Sherman" – who participated in search & rescue efforts in NY after the 9/11 attacks.
** El Cajon Fire Dept.'s Division Chief Michael Scott and "Billy" – who participated in search & rescue efforts in NY after the 9/11 attacks.
** Tori Nelson and "Samantha" – who helped apprehend a criminal suspect in San Diego.
** Dr. Charles La Vorgna and "Molly II" – who offered counseling and consolation to disaster victims in NY.
** Kristi Gorney – who rescued "Bungee", a wounded dog which fell over a freeway overpass in San Diego.

Hear about their amazing stories while enjoying live music, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a fabulous Silent Auction. Celebrity guests, Catherine Hicks - Actress and Star of 7th Heaven, and Christine Bellport - TV Personality and Anchor of KUSI News - will be on hand to make the night lively and entertaining.
